Explanation : REPORTER NICKI MAYO: One out of every nine East Tennesseans is fighting some form of Chronic Kidney Disease. Now a local health group is driving efforts to fight back. The National Kidney Foundation of East Tennessee is urging people to donate used cars, RV, boats and motorcycles for the "Kidney Car" Campaign. Proceeds from the donations will help fund kidney research, dialysis, and nutritional needs for patients in the Tri-Cities Region. Donations are tax deductible and the Kidney Foundation will tow your car for free. Northeast Director Jamie Gray says people can also donate cars that are not in the best shape. The East Tennessee Auto Auction General Manager Mark Halseth says the Fall Branch lot hosts a "Kidney Car" Day the last Thursday of every month for local dealers.
